Program Overview:
As a values-driven school community, the CREC Public Safety Academy instills in students a commitment to serving the community in public safety careers. The school emphasizes character education and leadership development skills that will help students be successful in the public safety profession of their choice.
As a college preparatory academy, high academic expectations, strong parental participation, and rich diversity all help to shape the culture of the Public Safety Academy. Students develop the values, self-discipline, work habits, academic skills and life skills that will help them thrive in college and will make them indispensable leaders within their chosen fields. Students work with professional firefighters, police officers, homeland security personnel, corrections personnel, emergency medical services, forensic scientists and law professionals. Graduates go on to higher education and pursue careers in law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical services, public safety communications and other related careers. Based on the 2010-11 enrollment data, the school meets the state integration standard.
