Medical Professions and Teacher Preparation Academy (6-12)

Program Overview:

This college preparatory academy blends a rigorous core curriculum with a focus on a career in the medical professions or education. The focused theme provides students exposure in the fields of medicine and education by offering opportunities for career shadowing and coaching from professionals in health care facilities or with certified teachers in the learning laboratory preschool located at the school as well as other PK-12 schools. Students have the opportunity to do field work through experiential learning, bringing their studies into the greater classroom- the world.

Starting in the 2011–2012 school year, ninth grade students will be using the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, a rigorous internationally benchmarked program of studies. Students successfully completing the IGCSE coursework will have the opportunity to earn a board examination certificate of studies and pursue more advanced coursework.
